I’ve talked before, briefly, about being taken under the wing of a fabulous blogging group who go by the name of #TribalChat. When one of the tribe is going through shit, we all feel it. A few months ago, one of our pack lost a dear friend to cancer.

After the initial outpourings of sympathy, we got to talking about how there are quite a few of us, with a combined social media reach of thousands. Surely we could use this influence to do some good – to build on the already incredible fundraising efforts of others and unite together with a common goal? We bandied about the idea of a group coffee morning, but we live all over the shop and realised this would be logistically impossible. Then we decided that as so much of our blogging activities are virtual, why not make our coffee morning virtual too?

#BloggersBeatingCancer – join us on Friday 30th September at 10.30am, for coffee and a social media thunderclap. Use the hashtag, get your friends involved, and get fundraising if you can. Anyone can take part in the virtual coffee morning, you don’t need to be a blogger. Who doesn’t love coffee and a natter? Get hold of your friends, chat online, it could be the friend who now lives abroad or the one who lives in the next town. Thanks to the internet you can chat to them like they are in the same room. Join us – have a chat, make a difference.

If you’re not able to take part, but would like to donate anyway, then that’s really cool too. Thank you.

Please donate to or share our fundraising page, which is open now – https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/bloggersbeatingcancer
