Christ, what a week it’s been! I moved house this week and spent most of my time being buried in a sea of packing boxes, and a hell of a lot of dust.
I’d like to be very dramatic and say that I’ve lost of track of days, but in fact I’m acutely aware of what day it is because I go back to work tomorrow, after my second foray into maternity leave. All eleven months and six days of it. Yep, it’s been quite the week, and as such my photos have been shocking. I’ve skipped three days of the #100HappyDays project because I realised that if I spent my usual amount of time dicking around on my phone, I’d get nothing unpacked.
Oh, and then we had no internet.
My unanticipated social media lockdown did alert me to one thing: I get SO MANY notifications a day. I’m signed up to a thousand and one bloody Facebook groups and every time I checked my emails, I was having to clear 40-50 at a time. Twitter alerts were in double figures too. My lock screen was full of my favourite Instagram users posting photos, and I had to ignore all of it. It made me feel quite panicky, actually, before I just started thinking “sod it” and leaving my phone on a shelf somewhere.
Anyway, you’ll be delighted to know that every box is unpacked, every room is in order, and I’m completely wiped out. Today has been the first day this week where we’ve actually had some time to sit back and enjoy the house, enjoy not being covered in filth, and enjoy some of the new homewares I’ve been stashing away. The most important of which is my new bean to cup coffee machine, which admittedly was a bastard to work out at first, but it makes a lovely brew.
So, it’s a boring photo, and even more boring if you don’t like coffee or white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies. Not to worry, I expect I’ll post a few of my desk at work this week and that’ll really bore the pants off you. You can keep tabs on all that excitement by following me on Instagram.
